As a maker of handmade plush, I am continuing to work on a series of creatures, called Jemmanimals. I am looking for that cozy place to curl up in somewhere between the handcrafted uprising and the designer toy phenomenon.
As a dressmaker and handbag designer, I use alternative materials to create unique pieces that are both functional and provocative, while exploring the limits of each materials' usability.
In August 2007, I started working as the Communications Director for Artspace, New Haven's premier contemporary gallery for emerging artists.
In September 2007, I started a gallery with my partner, John Bent, in our apartment, entitled Hello My Name Is Gallery.
Artwork on this site is for sale as marked. I would be thrilled to bits to work on custom orders, commissions, collaborative projects, and trades.
If you have any questions, please contact me. I'm keen to meet fellow artists, crafters, designers and enthusiasts, and will gladly share links.
Thanks for visiting my site! Thimbly, Jemma xoxo
